Nestled high in South Australia’s Fleurieu Peninsula, Esca Inman Valley is a prefabricated luxury cabin retreat designed by Das Studio. Perched among native gum trees with sweeping views to the Southern Ocean, the two identical suites were fabricated off-site and installed on a remote eco-tourism property to minimise site disturbance. The project uses prefabrication not only to streamline delivery but to respond sensitively to the landscape—offering a sustainable and immersive guest experience rooted in place.
Clad in bushfire-resistant black steel and lined with warm, tactile timber, the cabins reflect the natural character of their surroundings. Every material was chosen with intent—from hand-chipped granite benchtops to locally quarried bluestone steps—creating a refined, distinctly Australian version of luxury. With concealed storage, a cantilevered entry, and carefully framed views, Esca Inman Valley exemplifies how modular construction can deliver both architectural clarity and exceptional user experience in remote and ecologically sensitive settings.
