Built by Brother Nature | Featuring Australian Mass Timber
Equipment is a high-performance retail and storage facility purpose-built for Rhythm, one of Australia’s most iconic adventure sports retailers. Located in Cooma, NSW—gateway to the Snowy Mountains—the new building supports Rhythm’s ever-expanding offering, this time catering to the growing demand for mountain biking gear and services. For Brother Nature, collaborating with a local institution of Rhythm’s scale and legacy marked a milestone project—one that combined the demands of commercial performance with the environmental and construction benefits of mass timber.
The building’s structure is made from Australian-grown and engineered mass timber, working in tandem with steel elements to deliver durability, accuracy and reduced embodied carbon. Prefabrication played a key role in the construction process. With every component precision-cut off-site, the structure was assembled in just a few days—demonstrating how industrialised timber systems can accelerate project delivery without compromising integrity. The result is a robust and low-impact building, designed to meet the demands of commercial equipment retail while also standing as a benchmark for sustainable construction in regional Australia.
Mass timber isn’t just for housing—it’s a future-ready solution for performance-led, commercial-scale buildings that prioritise speed, quality and climate responsiveness.
